Please be positive. What is wrong in signing petition? If you are not convince, don't sign. Please don't discourage others.
These online petitions are useless. Do not sign up for them and waste your time. If you really want to do something for the bill then go and meet your senators and congressmen and talk about the bill and other bills that solve your problems.
Obama or for that matter any senator will never come to petionsonline website and see all fake signatures.

I got my visa stamping from mumbai conuslate. Its pretty easy. Take an appointment through VFS by getting a HDFC bank receipt after paying the fee. Check on the VFS site when is the available date. and then follow the link and book the appointment. You will get forms which are populated. If you have any mistakes in the form i think you can correct it at the mumbai consulate too. When you enter the consulate they will hand you the original form which you filled and then ask you to fill whatever you had missed out using your pen. you have to wait till your number calls out and then you get visa stamped and passport posted.

I received a letter from uscis/DHS on Jan 28.
It was in response to my request about my wifes I-485 being in namecheck for a long time.
The response stated:
"The review of our records indicate that the investigation into your background has been completed. The processing of your case has been delayed because the requirement review is still in process."
Does this mean that the namecheck has been completed?
What is "requirement review"?
Did anyone else get this type of letter?
Wifes Case dates:
PD - Jul 2003
Interview Date - Jan 4 2006
Type - Family based ( on marriage )
Info Pass - Sep 2007
Last FP - Oct 2007
LUD - 10/2007 ( probably because of FP )

First off all on what basis you can say there are no jobs for H1B's.

I am one of the July 2007 EAD filers and did not file for AP at that time.
So I am in the process of the renewing EAD & Applying for AP for the first time.
I have couple of questions..

this is my experience - I efiled for myself for EAD only (no AP applied so far - we had been to India recently) and I got a FP notice. for my wife, I sent my postal mail and she didnt get any FP notice -- we already recd her EAD card (in roughly 25 - 30 days).
I had efiled mine few days before her and so
far nothing - only soft LUD's.
and yes ..EAD was renewed for only one year ..so I guess USCIS still treats this as a cash cow !!!

If you plan to print larger than 11x14 (roughly), or if you want more cropping flexibility, the D80 is a clear choice. Otherwise, between the D50 and D70, the D70 has a few more options (check DPreview for feature lists) that may or may not matter to you. same here. file AP in August and got receipt. I-485 filed on July 2 and no receipt so far. called USCIS and could not find receipt number for 485.

Sorry Murali, I wasn't clear in my earlier post.
1. Your new "extended for 3-yrs" H1B can be trasferred to your new employer. Your new employer files for the transfer of this approved H1B and you can work for the new employer legally with no hassles.
2. Now regarding your green card, since your PD is not current and you haven't been able to apply for AOS yet (and thus, "AOS pending for 180 days" isn't relevant either), you will have to restart your GC process - PERM and then I-140 followed by I-485 (when PD is current). At the last stage, when you apply for I-485 (AOS), you can recapture your older PD (Feb 2008), but not before that.
3. If you wait till you are able to file your AOS and then 180 days after you do file it, and THEN move to a similar job, then you won't have to restart your GC process. Now, given the current visa bulletin, this is hard to predict and there are no guarantees your job offer will still be available at that time.
Hope this clarifies my earlier post - sorry for the confusion.

1) Since when have you been in US, rather first time when did you come to US
2) Did you never leave US after 1999. This is because the status really matters only since your last arrival on visa. Earlier records do not matter as per 245(k) memo. This question will help other forum members who have some kind of status violation

When I applied for my wife's AOS 3 weeks ago as a derivative, my lawyer also wrote in the cover letter to consider my case in cross chargeability.
But I have not seen any LUDs on my case yet. One point is that , may be I have to wait till my wife has got her FP cleared? Or can I get my case approved before hers? My FP is cleared....
Do you think they can give me the GC before my wife? Or they both have to come at the sametime... she is my AOS dependent, but i am using her country for cross chargeability.... any thoughts....
