Since we had filed 140 recently. we got e-approval with notice saying actual notice will follow in mail.

It really will not matter a whole lot whether you mark Yes to all three or only to the third one. What you do need to do is attach an explanation (that your wife has filed 485, copy of 485 receipt and cover letter explaining that it was filed as a "dependent" petition to your immigration petition).
This questions (all three of them) are designed to screen people with immigrant intent (the whole purpose is to answer the question: does this person have immigrant intent) and once you answer one of them yes, it serves the purpose.
Immigrant intent does not matter for H, O, P visa categories as they are exempt from sec 214(b).
So in nutshell, it would not matter whether you mark all three yes or only third one yes. If I were to be you, I will mark them all yes and attach the explanation (very brief, with highlighted statement that says that she has filed 485 and receipt is attached).

Hi folks,
The local Council for the Arts is sponsoring a photography contest and I'm planning to enter it (my first!!). The subject of the contest is an Ice Fishing Derby held Jan 29-30, 2005 in Silver Lake, NY. Not my ideal choice of subjects, but ...
Here is the primary rule:
"Winning photos will be those that best represent and display the Ice Fishing contest as an interesting winter event."
Of the ~160 shots I took, these were my favorites.

These are good suggestions. What can we do as a group ? Can we arrange a demonstration in DC ?
We are currently trying to work with the government and not go against it It might prove counterproductive. We as a group need to expand further. Strength is also in the numbers. While we are only 5550+ we represent half million people stuck in the greencard process. We need to reach out to all those people and get their support.
Each individual here on the forum pls. try to connect with your friends who also share our plight and urge them to become members.
Pls. post IV posters in your local grocery stores, temples and restaurants.

So how does one surrender a Green Card abroad - do they have to go to a US Consular Office/Embassy?
Yes, my dad took his expired GC to the Chennai Consulate when he went for his visitor's visa stamping and let the first level screening officer know that he has this document - she then made a note of it (I think) and asked my dad to hand it over the VO during the interview. When my dad handed it to the VO - he was looking and gazing at it for a while and then took it inside and had a small discussion with a couple of people and then filled out a form and had a notary notorize it and asked my dad to fill out the form and gave my dad a copy and then put it in an envelope and attached this to my dad's visitor's visa file.

Don't agree with this. According to a revision some time ago, time in H4 status is no longer counted against H1-B 6 yr limit.

I understand that one cannot guess when USCIS sends out receipts. All I wanted to know was if there will be different receipts sent out for LC/140/485 and if the processing will be done simultaneously or separately.
you ask your lawyer. This forum is meant to solve or find answers to our problems. Not to answer questions. Do your research . Understand the requirements and steps. There are somethings predictable with USCIS. And above all, you have google to search for your answers. Dont always try to take a short cut to find your answers. Already you have done a LC. Now atleast put in ur efforts to understand the GC world. It is not a rocket science unless you want to know the internal working procedures of USCIS in detail.

I am thinking of starting my own company doing work similar to what I am employed for? Can I quit my job and start my own firm on EAD. I will be the sole proprietor and employee and the business would essentially operate as a startup for the foreseeable future. Will this be ok during I-485 adjudication? or do i need a regular job?

Am I the only one who thinks it would be sheer genius if Kodak was to license the Canon mount? Imagine if they offered both Nikon and Canon mounts (even better - an interchangeable mount plate so you could have it both ways on one body)!
Surely this is possible. Perhaps Canon is blocking them or it's just not cost-effective?

I see a lot of people flocking into "Orkut". How about incorporating a dose of IV through orkut if some of us are already there? What is more important is, making people aware of the consequences they might have to face, even if they havent filed for their GC yet.

I own house too. My immediate goal would be to get my PERM and I-140 approved and with the help of approved I-140 get a 3 years extension so that i can stay and enjoy my new house for few more years. By the way i was in this queue in Mar06(my first perm) and Jun 07(My second perm) and now again in April 09. I am building my patience every year :D

Before posting this did you even think that the ship may be crossing international waters and US immigration laws may not hold good in that region? Were you not too quick to judge one's competency?
Don't you think the person going on a cruise should make an effort to check this out with the cruiseline?
Many of you have probably been to niagara falls and been on the boat that takes you close the falls. If the boat by mistake goes even an inch over the canada side of the water, they will check your passports and visas before letting you into US side.:D

My attorney mentioned that "Automatic Revalidation" does not apply when you travel to canada for visa renewal stamping given that the original visa has expired.
Nonimmigrants who are eligible to re-enter the U.S. pursuant to the authority of automatic revalidation are not able to benefit from the automatic revalidation process if the nonimmigrant's passport reflects evidence that while in contiguous territory or on an adjacent island the nonimmigrant applied for a new visa and is pending a decision or has been denied a new visa application.

I know someone who went to Canada for the weekend and got the I-94 with the correct date on it.
Note that the airline (AA), on his way out of the US, was not willing to take his I-94 since he was going for less than 30 days. So he had to explain to them about his situation and they took it.
Also note that if you have an Indian passport, you will need a visa to go to Canada.
The other option to extend your I-94 is for your employer to refile I-129, and request for extension of stay. This can be done using premium processing.

So I am planning to make a trip to Mexico after my passport got renewed to renew I-94. Does it work?. Or do I have to go out of American Continent to get the new I-94. Some thread from (other sites) said, I need to go out American Continent..Is it true?.
Or is there any other way to extend my I-94 without crossing the border?.
